1. Reduce "odour precursors" in the body to inhibit body odour from the source

Some antiperspirant contain ingredients such as chlorophyll (e.g. sodium copper chlorophyllin), zinc chloride, and green tea extract:

Chlorophyll-like are believed to bind to "odour precursors" (such as sulphur-containing compounds and short-chain fatty acids, which are produced by metabolism in the body, after being excreted through the sweat glands in the skin, are broken down by bacteria to produce pungent odours), reducing the amount that is excret with sweat and thereby reducing the likelihood of body odour from the source.

Mineral salts such as zinc chloride may reduce the odours produced when bacteria break down sweat by the chemical properties of certain components in the sweat.

2. Regulate the intestinal flora to indirectly improve body odour

A few antiperspirant capsules add prob (such as lactobacillus, bifidobacterium) or prebiotic ingredients:

Studies have shown that some body odours (such as "fcal smell" related body odour) are related to an imbalance in the intestinal flora - an imbalance in the flora may produce more odorous metabolites, which arecreted through the bloodstream and out through sweat and breathing.

Probiotics can help regulate the structure of the intestinal flora, reduce the production of odorous metabol, and thereby indirectly improve the related body odour problems.
